There are quite a number of national and international days celebrated in the remembrance and commemoration of issues as per sector or national courses. In the development world a number of these days are celebrated to put emphasis on certain issues affecting people globally or nationally though it’s still tricky to attach impact to these days. Having worked in the development sector for a while there is a feeling that Meaning has been lost FOR these days. Between January and March there were about 20 international days to commemorate and among these some of which you know and some you probably don’t. I bet all these celebrations had a good theme and a call for action to which certain commitments were made and supposed to be followed up. To this i feel very little is done year in and year out and we keep repeating the same mistakes. So is there value in celebrating these international days ? Comment and let me know what you think
So its the new year and everything seems frenzy and brand new. Not much going on but a lot planned. its still a question of where do i start from and how do we make everything work. A number of us i guess developed resolutions for the year and the question on everyone ‘s mind is how? . How do I (we) make this work? These are things we deal with daily but never at anyone moment have a clear answer. In many cases nothing is done and whole year is wasted. I believe 2017 is a unique year to make lasting adjustments in our lives. We need to start! Stop complaining, sleep less, hard and start on working our dreams.
Am guessing a certain group of us are saying i have had this talk of progress for a while and i did everything and nothing happened. Well no one said it would be easy and life is also a continuous journey. There are bumps, challenges and more bumps. These are the realities of life and we to deal with it. The how question is still lingering for answers but reality is there will be no answer until you start. Start today with a positive mind and attitude towards the things you want to achieve. I have no answers to yours but am working mine. So welcome to 2017, a year of starting and doing.
